Alpine/glacier course
This course is available in three versions: glacier and intro to alpine climbing, alpine climbing week, and advanced alpine climbing week. We usually stay in Kebnekaise, La Grave, or Chamonix, but there are many other places that are also suitable. These courses are usually 5-6 days long but can of course be adapted to your wishes.
What we cover is: glacier travel, crevasse rescue, rope climbing, effective climbing techniques, trip planning, and of course, we go on climbing trips.
Suggested itinerary for a week in Chamonix:
Day 1: We meet in the afternoon/evening and go through the week.
Day 2:We meet in the morning and take the lift up and climb a suitable route. After climbing, we take the lift down to the valley.
Day 3: Meet at the train station and travel up to Montenvers, where we will do Ecole de glace (glacier training). Then we will walk up to Enver hut.
Day 4: Early start from the cabin and rock climbing trip.
Day 5: Another early start and rock climbing from the cabin, then hiking back to the train.
Day 6: First lift up to Aiguille du Midi, glacier hike over to Italy for climbing on Arete de Entreves or practice on the glacier, then we go to Torino hut.
Day 7: We head out in the light of our headlamps to Tour Rond (3,792 m). After that, we return to the lift and descend to Chamonix.
